I am pleased to announce that I will have a one-person exhibition titled Bone Deep with the Shircliff Gallery of Art of Vincennes University, IN. A big thank you to well know photographer Christopher Schneberger who is an Assistant Professor of Art and Director of the gallery at the university. The exhibition is from August 16th-September 23rd. The documentary film Work at Hand will be shown and I will conduct a drawing workshop also. I will be showing work from Pillars of Dust series of large-scale paintings and mixed media drawings.
Professional Development Grant Awarded
I am pleased to announce that I have been awarded a Professional Development Grant from Columbia College Chicago to cover the costs to prepare and mount my forthcoming one-person exhibition, Interpolations: New Large-Scale Work by Michael K. Paxton, to be presented in the main floor gallery of the Evanston Art Center, Evanston, IL, opening February 27, 2021 and running through April 4, 2021.

I am very honored to have been featured by the Evanston Art Center in a Zoom Virtual Studio Visit and Artist Talk for their social media platforms. Introduced by President and CEO of the Center, Paula Danoff and interviewed by Cara Feeney, Director of Exhibitions, who also did a very nice job of editing this video. Linda Matney Gallery Tenth Anniversary Exhibit Online →
Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus Linda Matney’s Tenth Anniversary Exhibit was force to be viewed online as a virtual exhibition. Very sad that this important milestone for the gallery with a celebration of works by gallery artist was so effected.
